UEARFC are looking to add another member to their existing coaching team. With recent expansion to three teams in the BUCS competition, the club is looking for an individual whom can be an integral part of the evolution of UEARFC in the years to come with the development and expansion of Colney Lane in tandem with Norwich RFC.
The Club is a very active within the university and has high ambitions moving into next year, as seen by the expansion to 3 teams and are looking for applicants who would be mainly working with the 3rd XV in BUCS Midlands 5A division facing Lincoln, Anglia Ruskin and Wolverhampton amongst others. As such, we are looking for an approachable coach who is able to ensure that the basic fundamentals of the game are done well to a high standard and to be able to mentor new players to the team or to the game of rugby and help them develop.
Training itself is currently twice a week 7pm-9pm, with Monday sessions under floodlights at Colney Lane and Friday sessions taking place on the AstroTurf facilities of the Sports Park, and as such will often differ in the content required, all coaches can be assisted by the resident captains in developing specific training sessions on the needs of each team. Games themselves take place in BUCS on Wednesdays and UEARFC also has a strong presence in the local Eastern Counties leagues with the “Trojans” who play on Saturdays and as such the Monday/Friday sessions tend to focus around the game at hand and the different challenges that each league presents.
