Title: Head Rugby Coach
Deadline: FRIDAY 30th September 2016 at 12pm Interviews: Monday 10th October 2016
Contract: We welcome tenders from self-employed coaches or coaching companies. Tenders will be reviewed
in line with the criteria outlined in this document. We will be looking for quality and value for money. A
service level agreement will be awarded to the preferred tender submission.
Hours: Monday and Tuesday 9-10:30am, Wednesday 11:15-13:15 and 14:00-16:00. Fixtures usually take place
on a Wednesday and the coach would be expected to accompany the team to all fixtures home and away
which will involve times extending to meet the requirement.
Term: 31st October 2016 – 10th May 2017. A review will take place after year 1 with a view to extending the
contact on an annual basis from Sept-May.
Location: The College of West Anglia Sports Campus, Alive Lynnsport, Greenpark Avenue, Kings Lynn, Norfolk,
PE30 2QW as well as travel to away fixtures.
Description: We are seeking an enthusiastic Rugby Coach qualified to at least RFU Coaching level 2 to drive our
Rugby Academy on to the next level. Our current coach is moving on to take up a coaching role with the
Belgium National Rugby Team.
The Successful person should be able to motivate 16-19 year old Rugby players with an appetite to focus on
player development. You will also be responsible for linking with local clubs and developing a pathway for
player recruitment into the Elite Rugby Programme and supporting local clubs with exit routes for our players.
You should be committed to the player’s academic progress with the understanding that their academic
programme is their primary focus while at CWA.
CWA Sports Campus drives for excellence and the successful candidate should also aspire to develop the best
rugby programme in the region. You will have excellent facilities based at Alive Lynnsport with use of the
rugby pitch and pavilion, synthetic practice area for wet weather, indoor training space and access to an
outstanding fitness and strength and conditioning centre.
You will develop an athlete development programme to enhance all aspects of performance including
Nutrition, Strength and Conditioning, Sports Analytics and Performance Profiling which can be worked
alongside other coaches and sports science staff at CWA.
