The six award categories and the selection criteria are.........
1. Club of the Year
* The use the club has made of RFU Club Accreditation as a development tool;
* Benefits accruing from effective and efficient club management;
* The degree of integration within the local community;
* Procedures for recruitment and development of volunteers, coaches and referees;
* Player recruitment success leading to more rugby being played;
* Methods for ensuring a safe, protected and challenging environment for youth rugby;
* The promotion of the core values.
2. Coach/Referee of the Year
* Coach/referee development progress over the year e.g. CPD, award courses, training;
* Coach/referee achievements;
* The difference the coach/referee has made with players, the club and the game;
* How the coach/referee has promoted the core values.
3. Club Volunteer of the Year
* The contribution the volunteer has made to the running of a club;
* The length of time the volunteer has been supporting a club;
* How the volunteer has embraced the core values.
In addition a Volunteer Award will be made within each County. All nominees for the County Volunteer of the Month Award as well as nominees for the ECRU Club Volunteer of the Year Award from that particular County will be considered.
4. Lifetime Achievement Award
* Outstanding contributions made to rugby during a “lifetime†associated with the sport.
5. Young Rugby Ambassador of the Year (14 – 24)
* The role of the ambassador and the length of time involved in this position;
* The achievements of the young volunteer at a club, school, college, university or when supporting the activities of the CB.
6. Club Facility of the Year
* Facility developments; e.g. pitch improvements, social space etc. that have generated an improved quality of experience for all visitors;
* Ways in which the club has used external support, e.g. NatWest RugbyForce to achieve objectives;
* The benefits accruing from facility improvements and in particular how the club has been strengthened and links with the local community improved; and
* How the investment has improved the business of the Club, for example reductions in expenditure or increased revenues.
