Indigo Waste proud sponsors of the Volunteer of the month scheme
Norfolk Rugby's Under 25's volunteer of the month is Sam Brabazon of Norwich Medics.
Sam started his rugby playing carer playing in the after school rugby club at Berkhamsted School aged 10, before it came into the school games lessons in year 6, when I also joined Tring Rugby Club, working my way around the backs, before settling into the back row when we finally had proper scrums finally ending up in the 2nd XV. Coming to Uni I was introduced to NMRFC by Will Wise who also went to Berkhamsted. Now in my 4th year I've progressed to being Chairman having previously been the 2nd XV captain, and the secretary.
Sam still fits in time to play as well.
The over 25's volunteer of the month is John Port.
John commenced his Rugby Volunteering career when his son was playing in the youth section at L&Y.
John raised a huge number of Raffle prizes to raise money so the under 16's could go on tour.
John put together the tour documentation. The file John put together is legendary at Twickenham and is used as an example of good practice for all clubs.
John had to take a bit of a back seat for a couple of years due to some health issues.
His son moved to play at Beccles and John has stepped up to the plate there assisting there.
John has been instruments in helping the club get ready for the new season, just to name a few tasks he's willing taken on:
