On Wednesday evening Norfolk seniors took on Cambridge in the first of the tri-county matches for this season at Thetford R.F.C.
Norfolk were well beaten by Cambridge last season on the back of a good win against Suffolk so we were hopeful of a reverse of fortunes.
The side was lead out by Bruce Van Poortvliet (Captain) a Fraser Hall (Vice-Captain).
Norfolk certainly came out of the blocks the sharper side and by halftime had built a really good lead and it was looking like it was going to be a bit one sided.
Cambridge must have had a good team talk at halftime because they came out with a really attacking spirit and by the time there were 10 minutes to go they were back within one score and it was all a little too close for comfort.
However Norfolk showed real spirit and scored in the last few minutes. The final score Norfolk 45 Cambridge 29.
We are looking forward to taking on Suffolk at Bury St. Edmunds on the 9th March 2016 7.30 pm kick off.
Be great to see you there.
Thanks to Suffolk Referee's society for providing the officials.
Thanks to Gary Lee and his team at Thetford for hosting the game and the great food and hospitality.
