Norfolk U20's went down fighting
On a sunny winters afternoon at Thetford Rugby Club relatively young Norfolk Under 20's took on a team from Cambridge University Coached by ex E.C. Community Rugby Coach John Naylor.
The game ended Norfolk 19, Cambridge 52 a score which did not really reflect the who game.
Cambridge were a well drilled side who had clearly played together regularly whereas Norfolk were new together.
Cambridge played a very expansive game rarely competing at the ruck but doing so on occasion to keep the opposition interested.
It was a competitive game until the last 20 minutes when Cambridge scored a number of late tries when there fitness and extra subs paid results.
A lot of the Norfolk lads had played the day before and we suffered a number of injuries to key players.
It was a great opportunity for young players from Norfolk to be exposed to Rugby at a higher, faster pace game.
Great experience that they can take back to their clubs.
The lads have asked for us to arrange more games which we are looking into.
I have hopefully fixed the link
